Bonnie Bresee

Yvonne Annette “Bonnie” Weese Bresee, age 79, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her home with family at her side.

Bonnie was born January 15, 1942 in Humbolt, Kansas, daughter of the late Otto V. Weese and Mary Opal (Mapes) Weese. 

She graduated from Humbolt High School in 1959, and married Tony “Macky” Bresee in March of 1960. 








Bonnie was a gracious and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who lived to take care of her family. She was always cooking, sewing clothes, and offering refreshments to all her family. She also loved spending time fishing with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a son, Tony Bresee, Jr., daughter, Mary Bresee, brother, Leroy Weese, and sisters, Donna Bresee and Cecila Weese.

Survivors include her children, Irene Rhodes (Dan) of Blue Mound, KS, Delmar Bresee (Carla) of Baxter Springs, KS, Ted Bresee (Tina) of Iola, KS, Joe Bresee of Joplin, Arlena “Jeanie” Schmoll (Greg Galazin) of Joplin, Floyd Bresee (Kelli) of Seneca, MO, Alfred Bresee of Baxter Springs, Goldie Hubbs (Jason) of Carl Junction, MO, Everett Bresee (Jennifer) of Fairland, OK, stepchildren, Bill Bresee (Teresa) of Joplin, Teresa Hargis, Horsehead, NY, Diane Hanover, Miami, OK; 53 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Al Weese (Lenora) of Visalia, CA, Gary See of Chanute, KS; sisters, Kay Shulz (Chuck) of Petrolia, KS, and Verna Bockover (Mike) of Chanute; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to express a special thank you to those who devoted time and love taking care of Bonnie recently, Arlena Schmoll, Becca White, Goldie Hubbs, and Donna Milner.

Graveside service will be Monday, June 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas with Pastor D.J. Grant and Rev. Al Weese officiating.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
