(From Midland Cremation Society)Dennis D. Vaughan (74) of Carthage, Mo. passed January 8, 2023, from a long illness in the comfort of his home. Dennis, fondly known as "Denny" was born to Howard and Marsoline Nadine Vaughan (Jacks) on March 11, 1948, in Santa Barbara, California.
Dennis married Mary L. Cline on February 14, 1984, in Carthage, Mo.
Dennis retired from the Jasper County Sheriff Department after 27 years of service. It was a job he truly enjoyed. Dennis had a large family who loved him very much.
Dennis is survived by his wife Mary Vaughan and three stepchildren Greg and wife Cindy Cline, C.D. and belated wife Diane Cline, Wendy and husband Doug Rustin. Dennis had eight grandchildren. Brandon Cline, Myndy and husband Sam Schmidt, Christina and husband Landon O'Neal, Kala and husband Zach Mason, Christopher and wife April Chapman, Brittany Chapman, Alyssa and husband Jake Drummond, Ashli Rustin. And seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister yevett and husband Randy Grisham, and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Marsoline Vaughan, sister Kathy Vaughan, brother Jerry Vaughan.
Dennis attended Avilla Harvest Community Church of Avilla, Mo. where the family will host a Celebration of Life for Dennis on January 21, 2023, at 11am with Harvest Church providing lunch.
