(From Parker Mortuary)Ricky Leon Howerton, age 59, of Joplin, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
Ricky, son of Floyd and Peggy (France) Howerton, was born on September 6, 1963 in Joplin. He grew up and attended school in Joplin and was currently employed with Webb Corporation in Webb City. He was united in marriage to Tina Adamson on April 8, 1991, in Eureka Springs, she survives.
Ricky was a devoted family man. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking, but his greatest joy was being a Poppi to his four grandsons. His kind gentle ways will be missed by his family and those who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Howerton, of Joplin; his mother, Peggy Howerton, of Joplin; his two daughters, Hailey Mcland, of Texas and Mackenzie Stephens, and her husband, Chad, of Seneca; his adored four grandsons, Asher Stephens, Sawyer McLand, Wyatt Stephens, and Holt Stephens; his sister, Terri Howerton, of Joplin; his sister in-law Debbie Dickey, of North Dakota; a nephew, Preston Gibbs, of Arkansas; three nieces, Alley Plake, of Texas; Whitney Smith, of Kansas; and Mallory Mutchler; of North Dakota; and his mother-in-law, Connie East, of Joplin. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Howerton in 2017.
A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
