George Patterson

(From Clark Funeral Home)

George E. Patterson, 77, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2023. George was born on April 16, 1946 in Joplin, Mo. He was the son of Stoney Patterson and Mary Long.

He was a truck driver for over forty years, driving for B & D Trucking, Simmons Foods and Price Trucking. He also drove a bus for the Neosho School District. He was united in marriage with the love of his life, Sherry, on September 7, 1968 in Neosho.

George’s greatest joy was his family. He referred to himself as the richest man in the world, not in material things but in his family. Some of his favorite moments were spent at the lake riding jet skis with his grandkids and taking the family on pontoon rides. He also loved racing at Mo-Kan Dragway and he was really good at it! He always drew the largest group of fans.

When he came to know the Lord, he was diligent in reading God's word and staying true to his faith. Those of us including his daughters seen God's amazing love unfold in him right before our eyes. No matter what he faced, he would remind his family that God was in control. He was known for his smile and his infectious laugh and was loved and adored by everyone that knew him. He was a member of New Life Fellowship in Neosho.
