Ruth Millard

Ruth Fern Millard passed peacefully Sunday December 31, 2023 at the age of 89.

She was born to Wesley and Eunice Jennings in Joplin, MO on June 21st, 1934. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim Millard and her parents. 

Ruth is survived by her 2 children: Jeff (Carol) and Todd (Bobbi), four grandchildren Katie (Ronnie), Courtney (Brandon) Megan (Josh) and Hank. 5 great-grand-children Brock, Brooklyn, Will, Cora and
Eliza. Ruth is also survived by her 3 sisters: Jeannie Gilstrap, Mary Jane Gregory and Shirley Connor.

Ruth worked as a telephone operator after high school, as a clerk at several retail stores, and finished her working career as a teacher's aide at College View State School. Her real passion was volunteering;
after retirement she spent many years volunteering at Freeman Hospital. She was very active in a number of ministries at Wildwood Baptist Church, especially the church library.

Ruth will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend.

The family would like to extend thanks to Silver Creek Assisted Living and Arbors as well as Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care of our mother.

A visitation to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2PM and a service at 3PM at Wildwood Baptist Church, Joplin, MO.
