Shirley Rinehart

Shirley Ann Gibbs-Schneickert-Rinehart, age 85, Joplin, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at her home with family at her side.

Shirley was born July 30, 1938 in Joplin, daughter of the late Pete Gibbs and Hazel (Mitchell) Gibbs. She grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School. 

She married Charles Daniel “Dan” Schneickert and she worked for Safeway before moving to New Mexico where they owned and operated Dan’s TV Repair. They ran this company for years before returning to Joplin in 1981. She continued co-owning Dan’s TV Repair in Joplin until his death in 2001.






She was a member of the Eastern Star, and Blendville Christian Church. While she was in New Mexico she was the church organist at her church for years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with family, and was known for cooking large meals on holidays. Even up until the end, she retained her sharp wit and sense of humor. She will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Dan, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Loren Rinehart, who passed away in 2008. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Eddie, Billy, and Sonny Gibbs.







She is survived by her children, Dan Schneickert, Jr. of Joplin, Debbie Lynn Ellis and husband Dave of Vista, CA, Steve Schneickert and Sharon Schneickert both of Joplin; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Roger Flint officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
