Jack L. “Skip” Routledge Jr., age 61, of Seneca, Mo. passed away at 6:40 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Skip was born May 9, 1956 in Joplin and had lived in Seneca the last 25 years. He was a truck driver, owner/operator, leased to Frontier Leasing Co. and had previously driven for several local trucking companies.
Skip married Kim Scotten July 15, 1977 in Miami, Ok. and she survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Carrie Owen and husband Brannon , Joplin, one son, Cory Routledge and wife Candy, Kansas City, Mo., his parents, Jack and Floy Routledge Sr., Joplin, four sisters. Diana Heckmaster and husband Steve, Joplin, Cathy Cook and husband Bruce, Seneca, Sandra Durmeier, Joplin, and Glenna Routledge, Joplin, one brother, Jeff Routledge and wife Jennifer, Duenweg, Mo., and numerous uncles, aunts, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jana Routledge, Grandparents, Glen and Edith Routledge, and John and Ethel Cook, and Uncle, Wayne Routledge.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Burkhart Cemetery, Racine, Mo. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the American Lung Assoc. in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
