Marian Grace “Mim” Hickam-Kaiser, age 91, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018.
Mim was born March 23, 1927 in Webb City, Missouri, to the union of the late Cecil and Martha (Jenkins) Bentley. She graduated from Webb City High School in 1945. After high school she attended Stephens College in Columbia, graduating in 1947. On December 27, 1947 she was united in marriage to Jim Hickam and together they shared 40 years of marriage before his passing in 1987. In 1992, she was united in marriage to Hershel Kaiser and they shared 18 years of marriage before his passing in 2010.
Mim was a substitute teacher for Carl Junction. She was also a member of the DAR. Mim was an avid golfer and a Charter Member of Briarbrook Country Club. She loved to play bridge and enjoyed spending time with her fellow players.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and siblings.
Survivors include her daughters, Christy Phillips (Larry) of Loma Linda and Sarah McAfee (Bob) of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Shanna Boyes (Justin) and Brad McAfee (Tina); four step-grandchildren; her “greats”, Rylee, Wyatt, Barrett, Madyson and Karsyn; three sisters-in-law; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City with Peter Buckland officating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carl Junction Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home, Webb City, Missouri.
