Victor “Bit” D. Strickland, 57, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday evening, July 30, 2018 at Carthage Health and Rehab, Carthage. Victor D. Strickland was born September 16, 1960 in Carthage, MO to Ruth (Scott) Strickland. He worked as a roofer for several years. Victor married Pamela Arney on August 6, 1999 in Miami, OK; she survives. He loved sports, coaching his children, playing for the Harlem Thrillers basketball team, and most of all his family.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela, two sons, Devon Strickland (Chelsey), Seymour, MO, and Trevor Strickland, Carthage, MO; one step son, Jason Clark, Joplin, MO; three brothers, Fred, Nathan and Brian Strickland; one sister, Marilyn Vera, Carthage; nine grandchildren, Avery, Cade, Kwynton, Kelbe, Tayhven, Kyndal, Jace, Noah and Jariah, and baby Nevaeh on the way; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Talon Strickland, two brothers, Winston and Robert “Pooter” Strickland, and three sisters, Tresa, Beverly and Brenda Strickland.
Visitation will be held 6-7 pm, Monday, August 6, 2018 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Nazarene Church, Carthage. Minister Sean Strickland will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
