Virginia Henson, 84, of rural Pierce City, MO, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 8, 2018, in the comfort of her home.
Virginia was born on October 18, 1933 in Pierce City, MO, daughter of the late Frank and Verna (Means) Leonard.
Virginia graduated from Pierce City High School with the class of 1951. She was a long-time member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
On November 16, 1952, Virginia was united in marriage to Bill W. Henson at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. They were blessed with over sixty-four years of wonderful memories and three children. Bill preceded Virginia in death on January 27, 2017.
Virginia is survived by two sons, Steve Henson and his wife Carla and Gary Henson, all of rural Pierce City; one daughter, Debbie Gaydou and her husband Ellis, of Wentworth; six grandchildren, Michelle Womack and her husband John, Jennifer Brisco and her husband Chris, Tom Henson and wife Kat, Mandy McDade and her husband David, Andy Henson and his wife Marenda and Sam Henson and his wife Tiffany; seven great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Jadon and Sydney Brisco and Carson and Emerson Womack, Millie and Presley Henson; one brother, Charles Leonard and wife Shirley of Pierce City, MO; one sister, Illa Abramovitz and husband Don of St. Louis, MO; one niece, Diane Leonard; two nephews, David Leonard and Jason Abramovitz; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Graveside services for Mrs. Henson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. Reverend Gary Stockton will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
