Verna Lucille Short, 85 of Pittsburg, KS died Sept. 3, 2018 at her home.
She was born November 26, 1932 in Pittsburg the daughter of Cecil W. and Violet M. (Swift) Edwards.
In September 25, 1950 she was united in marriage to William F. Short; he preceded her in death in 1992.
Verna worked as a nurse’s aide and home care for Integris Health Systems for many years.
Survivors include two sons: Gerald (Mistie) Short of Mindenmines, MO and Kelly Short of Corpus Christi, TX, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Billie Gates, an infant sister and a brother Cecil Edwards.
Graveside services will be 11:30am, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Nashville Cemetery in Nashville, MO with Rev. Dan Moss officiating, Burial will follow.
