Darrell Dean McNary, 78, passed from this Earth on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, surrounded by his loving companion, children and granddaughter. Dean was born on the family farm in Jasper, MO to David A. and Bertha (Tiller) McNary on April 25, 1941.
Dean loved school and graduated in 1959 at Jasper High School; he never missed a day. After working on the family farm, Dean worked at Morrow Milling, Bell Egg Farm and Sysco Foods. He retired from Sysco Foods, and he never missed a day.
Dean married the late Viola Brewer in 1962; they had one daughter, Carol McNary. Dean adopted Viola’s three children from a previous marriage; Vicky Lucas, Pam Cossey and David McNary. Dean leaves behind his four children, along with his loving companion Jody Hatfield and their fur baby, “Sandy”, along with numerous grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Dean loved to fish and watch the Cardinals play. He also loved “pushing the buttons” at casinos. Dean had many friends in the community. He was always ready with a wisecrack and a joke. Dean loved life; he never missed a day. He was one in a million and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Hackney Cemetery, Northeast of Carthage.
