Mr. George Anthony Nelson, 51, of Pineville, Missouri, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday morning, July 3, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
George entered this life on June 30, 1968, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to George Oscar and Barbara Ann (Turnberg) Nelson. In June of 1977, the family moved to Rogers, Arkansas where he grew up to be a very enterprising young man. George enlisted in the United States Army in 1993 and was honorably discharged in 1996.
On September 12, 2001, he was united in marriage to Channing Goodwin and to this union two children were born.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Rusty O’Dell.
George is survived by his wife, Channing Nelson of the home; three children, George Ashton Nelson of Rogers, Arkansas, George Alexander Nelson of Pineville, Missouri and Quinlynn Nelson also of Pineville; his mother, Barbara Nelson of Watertown, Minnesota; two sisters, Linda Benson and husband, Bob, of Watertown and Leanne Weyrick of Searcy, Arkansas; two brothers, Steve O’Dell and wife, Kathy, of Waconia, Minnesota and William David O’Dell of Rogers, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for George will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Harvey Goodwin officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday starting at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. On-line condolences may be sent to the family through our website www.ozarkfuneralhome.com.
