Michael Long

Michael Allen Long, 68, Sarcoxie, entered Heaven on June 30, 2019.

He was born on March 29, 1951, in Carthage, Missouri to the union of Earl and Delana Long. He grew up in and around Reeds and Sarcoxie area. He was united in marriage to Barbara Hastings and was blessed with two children. Mike worked at Safeway Cheese plant for twenty three years and finished his work history at Bemis Plastic Packaging in Joplin. He was a member of Christ’s Church of Oronogo. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed hunting and fishing with them.

Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Garry Long.

Michael is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Michelle Long Sommer and husband, Dustin, of Sarcoxie, and Josh Long and wife, Megan, of Webb City; grandchildren, Matt Sommer, Ashleigh Sommer, Brooke Sommer, Grayson Sommer, all of Sarcoxie, Breckin Williams and wife, Morgan, Channing Mickey, Austyn Mickey, Kirra Long and Nickhai Howard, all of Webb City; sister, Linda Sloniker and brother Harold Long and wife, Carolyn; several nieces and nephews; as well as host of other family and friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Long are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
