Wanda Lou McCoy, age 86 of Joplin, Mo. passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Freeman Hospital following an illness.
Wanda was born on November 26, 1932, the daughter of Orville and Cecil (Bennett) Davis. She has been a lifetime area resident. Wanda spent her days caring for family as a homemaker, raising her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Joplin Heights Baptist Church.
She married Buck McCoy in 1949 in Bentonville, Ar., he preceded her in death on December 20, 1999. Wanda was also preceded by her parents, a son, Dale McCoy, a brother, Jerry Davis, and a great-grandson, Riley McCoy.
Survivors include two sons; Rick McCoy of Joplin, Ronnie McCoy and wife Debbie of Diamond, Mo., two brothers; Jack Davis of Windsor, Co., Billy Davis of Quapaw, Ok., a sister; Pam Judd of Bernice, Ok., six grandchildren; Kimberly West and husband Matthew, Kia Divine and significant other Dakota Scott Smith, Dale McCoy and wife Tara, Bonnie Stallings and husband Cliff, Shavonne Francis and husband Shawn, Keith McCoy and wife Stacy, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family has requested donations be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.
Services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
