Glenn Arthur Russell, age 64 passed away at 9:45 am, Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Joplin Gardens, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Mr Russell was born October 31, 1954 in Joplin, MO. His parents were Harold Leon and Beatrice "Norma" (Beckwith) Russell. He moved to Joplin in 1998 from Topeka, KS.
He graduated from Topeka West High School and earned a Bachelor's degree at Washburn University. He was General Manager at Jim Spicer Chevrolet, Joplin MO and had worked at several other area car agencies. He was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Joplin, MO.
Surviving is one son, Ryan Russell, Bentonville, AR; two daughters, Corie Hengst (Kyler), Fairfield, CT and Whitney Russell, Joplin; his ex-wife, Kim (Owen) Russell, Joplin; one granddaughter, Avery Hengst, Fairfield; his mother, Norma Scott, Joplin, MO; one brother, Buford Lee Scott, Topeka; and two sisters, Rebecca Scott, Joplin, and Cynthia Wilken (Ron) Ft Worth, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father, his step-father, Buford Scott, two brothers, Leon Russell Jr and James Kent Russell, and one step-brother, Richard Scott.
Glenn has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date.
