Katheryn Hininger

Anna “Katheryn” Roper-Hininger, 85, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Katheryn was born July 7, 1934 in Carthage to Kenneth and Bessie “Ingle” Roper.

Katheryn was a lifetime resident of Jasper and a graduate of Carthage High School Class of 1952. She was the wife of a dairy farmer, a homemaker, an artist and a member of the First Baptist Church in Jasper.

Katheryn was united in marriage to Clyde M. Hininger at Mt. Moriah Church in Carthage. They were married for 59 years. Clyde passed away on April 14, 2015.

Katheryn is survived by five daughters, Della Selvey (Russell) of Jasper, Carrie Smith (Clinton) of Jasper, Cathy Probert (Dan) of Jasper, Julie Schau (Randy) of Robertsville, MO, and Angela Arehart (Tom) of St. Bernice, IN; three sisters-in-law, Judy Roper, Mary Roper and Lucille Wolf; 12 grandchildren, Megan, Ross, Lexie, Lisa, Bryce, Cayla, Alyvia, Beau, Patrick, Jacob, Laura and Caleb; 13 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.








Katheryn was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Roper and George Roper; one sister, Dorothy Pugh.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Jasper. Services will be held immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery.
