Jack Lemmons

Jackie “Jack” E. Lemmons, age 82, Joplin, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at his home.

Jack was born May 8, 1939 in Joplin, son of the late Walter Lemmons and Edith Vanee (Bauer) Lemmons. He graduated from Joplin High School in 1957, and then Joplin Junior College in 1959. 

He worked for 31 years for Newman’s Department Store as Corporate Manager, and then went to work for Dillard’s Department Store as Manager in Omaha, NE, St. Louis, MO, Paducah, KY, and Colorado Springs, Co before retiring in 2004. He was a lifetime member of the Joplin Elks Lodge #501 where he enjoyed spending time with his fellow Elks. 








Jack had a love of sports; Brooklyn/LA Dodgers, Boston Celtics, Kansas City Chiefs, and all the sports at MSSU where he was a big supporter.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Greenlee and Joyce Mullikin.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Treva Lawson Lemmons; daughters, Donna Walser (Kirby) of Joplin, Tracy Roberts (J.D.) of Monett, MO; son, Keith Lemmons (Gay) of Lees Summit, MO; sister, Linda Meyer (Ron) of Joplin; grandchildren, Dawson Lemmons, Megan Walser, and Amy Walser; step-grandchildren, Michael Roberts (Aubrey), Nicky Roberts (Lexi), and Lauren Folmer; step-great-grandchildren, Hunter Davis and Lily Roberts.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Roger Flint officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Elks Lodge #501 Christmas Basket Program.
