Mary Lenore Droska, age 101, of Wentworth, MO passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Westgate at Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, MO. She was born in Wichita, KS on Friday, February 6, 1920; the daughter of John J and Mary (Meagher) Welsh.
Mrs. Droska graduated from Diamond High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. She married Joseph Droska at St. Agnes in Sarcoxie, MO.
Mrs. Droska was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society where she always had a great time with friends. Mrs. Droska enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She loved her children and grandchildren and attended all school activities and events that she could. She always loved when everyone came to the farm. Mrs. Droska was a great cook and will always be known for her homemade cinnamon rolls and pies. Mrs. Droska was a homemaker who always made others feel at home.
Mrs. Droska is survived by the following: a daughter, Mary (Dale) Ward of Joplin, MO; a son, John J. (Regina) Droska of St. Louis, MO; a son-in-law, Larry Byler of Carl Junction, MO; six grandchildren, Christopher Byler, Gretchen DeMasters, Brian Ward, Jacob Droska, Julie Darmody, and Dan Droska; ten great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Welsh; her husband, Joseph in 1976; a son, James in 2015; and a daughter, Margaret Byler in 2019.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. A Prayer Service and Rosary will follow.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie, MO on Thursday, June 10, 2021 beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Sarcoxie, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
