(From Parker Mortuary)Paul Dean Eddy, age 88, Joplin, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021, at his home with family at his side.
Paul was born September 1, 1932, in Warner, Oklahoma, son of the late Kelley and Irene (Misenhimer) Eddy. He grew up in Oklahoma where he received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and then his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri in Kansas City (UMKC).
After graduation he worked for Spencer Chemical before moving to the Joplin area where he worked for several years for Eagle Picher before retiring in 1992 as President.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Eddy, Warren Eddy, and James Eddy.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Shirley; sons, Mike Eddy (Anita) of Webb City, and Mitch Eddy (Sharell) of Oronogo; grandchildren, Nathan Eddy (Caitlin) of Joplin, David Eddy (Christy) of Prosper, Texas, Derrick Eddy of Bentonville, Arkansas, Lindsey Eddy (Miguel Rivero) of Webb City, Dakota Questelle (Felicia) of Joplin, and Emmyrson Questelle of Oronogo; great-grandchildren, Elly, Hallie, Grayson, Trennen, and Peyton.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in Mount Hope Cemetery with Scott Boudreaux officiating, and grandsons along with Kevin Beatty serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
