Vanessa Webb

Vanessa Denise Webb, age 31, of Joplin, passed away on June 7, 2021 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO after a courageous lifelong battle with sickle cell anemia.

Vanessa, daughter of Valerie Webb and Roderick Smith, was born on November 5, 1989 in Joplin. She grew up and attended school in Joplin graduating from Joplin High School in 2008. 









Soon after she became a phlebotomy technician. She enjoyed working in health care and helping others. She was a devoted mother, sister, daughter, and aunt. She loved her family and making them laugh by bringing joy to others. Her uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily life and her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Her beauty on the outside matched her beauty on the inside and will live on in those who knew her.

Survivors include her mother, Valerie Webb, and her husband, Randy, of Joplin; her father, Roderick Smith, of Denver, CO; two sons, Kaiden and Bricen Webb, of the home; three brothers, Markell Webb, of Oregon, Roderick Smith Jr., of Georgia, and Devin Smith, of Florida; grandparents, Lydia and Raymond Smith, of Arkansas; her aunts, Karen Smith, Yulonda Smith, and Tiffany Smith; her uncles, Nakia And Tia Smith, and Davis Webb, and his wife, Lori; cousins, C.J. Webb, Ty Webb, Kaneisha Flournoy, Brittany Smith, Jeresha Smith, Durrell Smith, KeShaun Bradley, Nakeldian Jefferson, Zakelyia Jefferson, TJ Smith, Shakia Smith, Sidney Nard, Chris and Hope Sanvil, Zosia Howard, and Taylor Palepoi; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 11:00 am at Parkway Cemetery in Joplin. Friends and family will be welcome for open viewing on Friday, June 11th during normal viewing hours.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
