(From Ozark Funeral Home)Dorothy Marie Houseman, 97, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri.
She began her journey on September 5, 1923 in Spokane, Washington born to the late Carl John and Amelia (Besel) Irmer. She met Roy Houseman in Japan, where they both stationed in the service. They married on June 4, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri and to this union two children were born.
Dorothy proudly served our country in the United States Navy. They lived several years in the Kansas City area where Roy owned and operated Houseman Redi-mix Concrete Company for 20 years.
In 1997 Dorothy and Roy moved to Anderson, Missouri, where they volunteered with Meals on Wheels and at the local Crosslines. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, cherishing time spent with family and friends. Dorothy was a longtime faithful member of the Pineville United Methodist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Roy Kenney Houseman, Sr.; daughter, Connie Marie Dudziak; two brothers, William Arthur and Melvin Irmer; grandchild, Justin Houseman.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Roy Kenney Houseman, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jerry Dudziak (Jennifer), Jennifer Lara (Willie), Jackie Marie Hinemeyer (Jason), Jessica Sutterlict; nine great grandchildren, Nowintha, Potathia, Lawyce, Cruz, Emma Grace, Cole, Jerry, Alec and Phillip; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Dorothy.
A Memorial service for Dorothy will be held at a later date, with burial in the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Missouri.
