(From Clark Funeral Home)Carolyn ‘Sue’ Patterson was born Nov. 1, 1936 in Lexington, Alabama, one of five children to William C. and Fannie P. (Taylor) Johnson. She entered into rest on August 14, 2021 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84.
Sue graduated from high school in Lexington and following graduation obtained her cosmetology license. She worked as a cosmetologist in Alabama and then at the OK Beauty Salon when the family moved to Neosho. She later worked at the Crowder College Library, Nicsinger Uniform and with her husband in Patterson’s Upholstery Shop.
Following the death of her husband, she worked in the sewing department at La Z Boy, where she retired in 2005. Sue loved to sew, going to the casinos, doing word search puzzles and crafts. She was a member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Sue and Marvin ‘Sarge’ Patterson were married in 1956 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1985.
She is survived by two children, Beverly Susan Patterson and fiancĂ©’, Mike Hansen of Neosho and Jeff Patterson and wife, Kerri of Neosho; four grandchildren, Blake Patterson, Kelsi Johnson, Emily Johnson and Carlee Patterson and one brother, Donald Johnson of Florence, Alabama.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Gordon and Mablean Murks and a brother, Louis Johnson.
