Tim Atwell

Timothy Edward Atwell, age 70, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 9:21 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021, at his home. He was born June 4, 1951, in Lucas, Ohio, the son of the late Walter Samuel and Marilyn Maxine (Butterbaugh) Atwell.

Tim was a 1969 graduate of Lucas High School in Lucas, Ohio and received his bachelor’s degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. Tim was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired postmaster having worked in Stotts City, Billings and Reeds Post Office.

On October 3, 1980, he married Ellen Anita Smith in Springfield, Missouri.

Tim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ellen; three daughters, Sarah Brown and her husband, Kyle, of Republic, Missouri, Melanie Oler and her husband, Corey, of Columbia, Missouri and Jenae Atwell and her fiancé, Josh Johnson, of Kansas City, Missouri; three sons, Tim Atwell and his wife, Tamara, of Lees Summit, Missouri, James Atwell of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Jonathan Atwell and his wife, Marisa, of Strafford, Missouri; three sisters, Judy Beal and Debbie Thompson and her husband, Dick, all of Ohio and Jean James of Michigan; three brothers, Dan Atwell and his wife, Irene, and John Atwell, all of Ohio and Mark Atwell of Georgia; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
