(From Derfelt Funeral Home)William “Bill” Miller Edge Sr, age 74 passed away at 4:04 am, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Bill was born April 30, 1947 at Joplin. His parents were John Fredrick Edge Sr and Juanita Helen (Dunn) Edge. He was a lifetime resident of Joplin.
Bill was a welder, machine operator, cabinet maker and an auto mechanic. He and his brother rebuilt several old cars and had also built dirt track race cars and a dragster. He enjoyed going to races on dirt tracks and MoKan race track. His favorite pastime was fishing and enjoyed talking to people.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a former Chairman of the Alcoholics Anonymous Chapter in Joplin.
Surviving are two sons, Bill Edge Jr, Fredonia, KS and John Edge, Joplin, ; two daughters, Melissa Talarico, Tennessee, and Angela Edge, Joplin; two brothers, Robert Edge, Galena, KS and Jim Edge, Joplin; and 2 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Julie Edge; one brother, John Edge and one sister Virginia Bailey.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at St Rose Cemetery, Chetopa, KS under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
