Lara Cration, age 95, Joplin, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Joplin

Lara was born May 27, 1926 in Ringold, Louisiana, son of the late Albert Creighton and Mami (Theus) Creighton. He has lived in Joplin for the past 72 years, and he worked as a crane operator for 30 years with International Paper. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

 

In addition to his parents, Lara was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Crayton, and a nephew, Tyron Oatis.

Survivors include his brother, Oatis Crayton of Joplin, daughter, Arbella Rodgers of Joplin, fiancé, Letha Potts of Joplin; his former wife, Erma Mae Rambo of Kansas City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. R. B. Roberson and Rev. Willie Rogers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Michael Rambo, Darren Rambo, Darrell Rambo, Vincent McGuire, Tracy Green, and Arthur Washington serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
