Lela Fidler

Lela Marie (Harlen) Fidler passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, on April 9, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Lela and her twin sister Lillie were born to Willard Hugh and Alice Adaline (Lewis) Harlen at their home in Webb City, Missouri, on March 11, 1941.

Lela attended Webb City schools before meeting Ivan Fidler. They were united in marriage on May 15, 1957, at the minister’s home in Carterville, Missouri. To this union, four children were born.








Lela was a homemaker who loved to crochet. She made many gifts for her family and friends, including afghans, potholders, and doilies, as well as doll clothes for her granddaughters.

Lela is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-five years, Ivan Fidler, of the home; two sons, Gary Fidler (Vity), of Galena, Kansas and Steven Fidler (Linda), of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Darla Wilson (Scott) of Oronogo, Missouri, and Darrel Mann of Oronogo, Missouri; four brothers, Tommy Harlen (Arva), of Neosho, Missouri, Richard Harlen (Carol) of Estacada, Oregon, Raymond Harlen of Abbeville, South Carolina, Larry Harlen (Barbara) of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; three sisters, Glenda Pollard (Kenny), of Carthage, Missouri, Mary Shephard, of Cashmere, Washington and Dorothy Melton, of Carthage, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, Elizabeth Currier, Gary Fidler, Jr., Sarah Keeter, Allen Finley, Katie Lacey, Kirra Antrobus, Bethany Crawford, Amber Wooldridge, Travis Mann, Taekwonda Duncan, Jillian Fidler, Levi Fidler, Nathaniel Smith and Rianarae Cabalero; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and other beloved family and friends.

Along with her parents, Lela was preceded in death by her son Jimmy Fidler, her granddaughter Cassandra Bouschor, her great-granddaughter Emmori Clarkson, her twin sister Lillie Witt and her brother Jack Harlen.

Graveside funeral services are Mrs. Fidler are 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Carterville Cemetery with Adrian Antrobus officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Gary Fidler, Jr., Josh Schmutz, Brent Thomas, Lloyd Duncan, Jonathan Crawford and Travis Mann. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
