(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Curtis Youngblood was born on June 22nd, 1932, to Luther and Celia Youngblood in Diamond, MO.
He married Dorthea Pauline Slavens on March 1, 1954, and they enjoyed over 60 wonderful years together. He is survived by his four children, LuAnn Heifner (Byers, CO) Stephen Curtis Youngblood and wife Pam (Tulsa, OK) Michael Youngblood and wife Kim (Houston, TX) and Cindy Brown and husband Steve, (Evergreen, CO).
He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Morris (Raytown, MO) and Dorothy Yoder (Sarcoxie, MO).
He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline, his parents Luther and Celia, his brothers, Joe, Edwin (Buzz), Clyde, and Martin (Duke) Youngblood.
He is survived by 9 grandchildren, Ryan Cole, Paula Heifner, Stephanie Youngblood, Heather Youngblood, Matthew Youngblood, Drew Youngblood, Chase Youngblood, Josh Gillmore, and Alyssa Gillmore. He was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren, Hayden Cole, Tea Cole, Liam Cole, Ethan Cole, Jordyn Thomas, Jailyn Youngblood-Logan, Alivia Youngblood, Anabelle Youngblood, Boston Youngblood, Aleyna Youngblood, James Gilmore and Ellie Pauline Ceda.
Curtis and Pauline were graduates of Diamond High School, and were longtime residents of Diamond, only leaving for a few years to live in California and Colorado for work, returning to Diamond upon retirement.
Curtis served in the Navy from 1952-56 (active duty) and 1956-60 (reserve duty). He was stationed in Rhode Island, California, Hawaii, and Japan.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, and the Kansas Jayhawks, along with old movies and comedy shows.
He was a master of fixing things around the house, and he enjoyed getting together with family and friends. He also loved boating, fishing, and relaxing at the lake.
Curtis was a navy man, a farmer, a manager, and a handyman, but most importantly, he was a loving husband and caring father, and grandfather and he will be missed.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Diamond Christian Church. Burial will follow at Diamond Cemetery.
