Larry Bryan

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Larry Bryan was born December 26, 1943, to Bernard and Helen Bryan. He married Linda Kay Bryant on March 15, 1963, for over 59 years. They have two sons, Kelly, of Cushing, Oklahoma and Kevin and Miranda Bryan of Webb City, Missouri. They also had two grandchildren: granddaughter, Taylor Bryan and grandson, Kyler Bryan. Larry and Linda had two great grandchildren, Liam Cole and Ashton Reeves.

Larry is survived by Linda and their two sons, a brother, Michael and Virginia Bryan of Carthage, Missouri, and a sister, Brenda Moore, of Diamond. He is also survived by sisters and brother-in-law Wanda Sneed, Bud and Nadine Bryant, Patty Van Winkle, Imogene Bryant and Allen and Colleen Pankratz. Larry and Linda have numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was predeceased in death by his parents, and his brothers, Steven Bryan and Davy Bryan.

Larry was an avid guitar player. He played with his father at area hootanannys, particularly at the Freedom Center - a one room schoolhouse that Larry attended as a child in the Diamond, Missouri area, which had eight grades taught at the same time. Larry and his father would play at Friday jam sessions and Saturdays at the hootanannys, and Linda would sing.

However, Larry’s favorite gig was as the “best” husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather for Linda, his sons, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved camping with the family, where he often was a prankster. Larry always seemed to be there at the right place and time when his family needed him.

Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and credited Him with being there throughout his life. Larry’s life was full of memories where Christ was active and acting for him.

The family will receive family and friends at a visitation on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Mason-Woodard Chapel, 3701 East 7th Street in Joplin. The service will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Mason Woodard.
