(From Nichols-Stephens Funeral Home)Frank H. Geasland, age 82, of Grove, OK, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo, after a short illness.
Frank was born on July 16, 1940 to Henry and Doris (Bittler) Geasland in Drumright, OK. As a child his family moved to Grove and Frank graduated from Grove High School, Class of 1958.
Following graduation, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and he proudly served his country for 22 years. He fought in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart and several other military accolades.
In 1993, Frank married Penny Rahorn in Vinita, OK and the couple made their home in Buffalo Creek. MO. They later moved to Grove in 2015.
Frank was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Grove and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed model trains, carpentry and building. Frank was an easy going, kind hearted man and will be missed by his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish Frank’s memory, wife, Penny Geasland; children: Jenny Geasland, Frank Geasland (Tammy) Texas, Patricia Bevans (Larry) of Toledo Reservoir, TX, Tammy Coon (Jimmy) of Hominy, OK and Myra Evans (Kevin) of Prue, Ok; sister, Doris Ann Mills (Roger) of Seneca, MO; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church at a later date.
