(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Dara June (Booe) Shallenburger age 72 passed away at 9:05 pm Saturday April 9, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO following an illness.
Dara was born June 30,1949 in Snyder, Colorado. Her parents were Vance Cutler Booe and Helen Lee Etta (Spencer) Booe.
She had lived in the area most of her life. As a young girl, she lived in the Galena Kansas area and graduated from Galena High School with the class of 1968. She retired from Labarge Joplin, MO after working there for years.
Dara was a member of Empire Mission Church, Galena, KS. She enjoyed yardwork and gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was an active participant in her Great Grandma Club.
Dara was married to Everett L. Shallenburger on Jan.25 1998 in Galena. He preceded her in death on Nov.21, 2017 She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Debra and Gale and one granddaughter Hailey Mcwherter.
Surviving is one son Frank Osborne Jr.(Rebecca) Broken Arrow OK; two daughters Tracy Carpenter (Kurt) Duenweg, MO. And Kimberly Gargus (Sam) Springfield MO. One brother Vance Booe Joplin MO; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Dara was entrusted to Derfelt funeral home Galena KS. for cremation. Services will be at a later date.
