(From Parker Mortuary)
Craig Alan Neve, age 58, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 at his home.
Craig, son of the late Troy Neve and Sallie (Knuckols) Goar, was born on February 21, 1964 in Tulare, California. He was raised in California where he met the love of his life, Melody Morris Neve.
He joined the Navy at 19 and served for a year before leaving. Upon coming home he and Melody got married January 8th of 1985 in Lake Tahoe. Always had to mention that corduroy suit.
They struggled to have children until they were given a single daughter, Dorothy Neve, born in February of 1995. They were married for 34 years, up until the passing of his wife. Growing up he was always an ornery one, adulthood didn't change that one bit. Always had a smirk, one eyebrow raised, and a smart alec comment to share. He was usually making jokes and teasing, his own way of showing he cared. Always said exactly how he felt no matter what anyone thought. He found it better to be completely truthful rather than sugar coat anything.
Craig was someone many could go to in their time of need for absolutely anything. He made so many feel right at home by just being himself, basically family. Even his daughter's friends started calling him Dad.
When you talked to him it felt like everything was going to be alright. Whether you needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, a buddy to watch the game with, or just someone to be there, he was your guy. He worked as a plumber "by trade" for many years and would always comment which houses he had worked on in the area. He loved his family and always worked so very hard over the years to provide. Once he became a grandfather, in 2014, they became the light of his life. Watching them grow and bonding with them brought him so much happiness. He will be greatly missed my many family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Dorothy Neve, and her husband, Derek Meeks, of Joplin; grandchildren, Anya Collins, Nikolai Collins, Ekoe Meeks, Melody Meeks, and Rory Meeks; siblings, Dan Neve, Cheri Crook, Dwayne Neve, and Denise Douglas; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melody Morris Neve on June 17, 2019.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
