(From Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home)Orpha Dale Thompson, 93 of Aldrich passed away April 28, 2022. Orpha Dale was born in Eudora, MO on June 21, 1928, to Harry and Margaret (Brewer) Dodson.
On August 27, 1945, Orpha Dale and Allen “Buck” Thompson were united in marriage and shared over 76 years together. To this union 3 sons were born, Allen Wade, Rickey, and Timothy Thompson.
Dale was saved at an early age at Eudora Baptist Church and served faithfully her entire life. She fulfilled many roles in service to her Savior the Lord Jesus. She was a dedicated teacher of the 4&5 year old class, Bible school, helped with regional church building with Missouri Baptist Mission, and also was the church clerk for 26 years. Dale was also a member of the Eastern Star organization. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Dale is preceded in death by her parents, son, Allen Wade Thompson, and brother, Joey Coleman Dodson.
Dale is survived by her husband, Buck Thompson; sons, Rickey Thompson and wife Jeanne of Carthage, Timothy Thompson and wife Sandy of Springfield; grandchildren, Deborha (Steve) Hinton, Rebecca (Aaron) Cusher, Susan (Scott) Johnson, Nancy (James) Green, Adam (Bonny) Thompson, Matthew (Jessica) Thompson, Lynnell (Bryan) Jenkins; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Bernard Dodson; other family and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00PM until service time, Monday, May 2, 2022, at Eudora Baptist Church, Eudora, MO. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM, Monday, May 2, 2022, at the church with burial to follow at Eudora Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Eudora Cemetery and may be left with the funeral home.
