Deborah Ollis

Deborah Inez Ollis, age 62, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at her home surrounded by family.

Deborah was born April 11, 1960 in Chula Vista, California, daughter of the late Carl McElvaney and Karen (Parker) Adams of Joplin. She grew up in California before moving to Joplin. She worked as a truck driver, was a guard at the Detention Center in Joplin, and most recently was working as an administrator over the Environmental Services at a hospital. She was an honorary member of the VFW Post 534 Auxiliary in Joplin.

She is survived by her children, Edwin “Eddie” Cahill, Jr., Brandi Cahill both of Modesto, California, John Ollis, Jr. and Sarah Ollis both of Joplin; grandchildren, Cora Cahill, Austin Owen, Leilani Johnson-Cahill all of California, Miles Ollis and Duncan Boyd both of Joplin; mother, Karen Adams of Joplin; sisters, Lisa McElvany of Joplin, Michelle Jorgensen of Indiana; boyfriend, Greg Schaffer; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the V.F.W. Post 534 Clubroom in Joplin with Pastor Roger Nichols officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
