Johnny Vietti

Johnny Wade Vietti, 37, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, surrounded by his wife, parents and loved ones. Johnny had suffered from a sudden and severe stroke which was the result of a brain bleed. The doctors were unable to stop the bleeding and Johnny was unable to recover. Per his request, his organs were donated, from which several families benefited.

 He was born February 1, 1977, at Springfield, MO. Johnny attended grade school in Weir, KS, and also George Nettels. He attended Pittsburg Middle School and Pittsburg High School and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1995. His high school activities included: baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, honor roll, All-Conference linebacker, All-State linebacker, Biology Club, class representative, FCA, play, Spanish Club and Thespian Club. He attended Pittsburg State University and graduated with honors with a degree in Automotive Technology. Johnny was a member of the Gorillahead Rugby Football Club at Pittsburg State University. He was part of an influx of former PHS football players who helped Gorillahead Rugby achieve a standard of excellence that continues to this day. Johnny was a key member of the Toyota, Lexus and Southern Area team since 1999 when he started as a summer intern with the Toyota Certified Collision Center Department the summer of his senior year at Pittsburg State University. After graduation in 2000, he entered the Sales and Marketing Management Trainee Program and then moved onto the Lexus Southern Area forming many great relationships across the entire area and nation as a District Service and Parts Manager, District Sales Manager and most recently as a Sales Training Specialist.

 He was united in marriage to Kimber Kirkland on July 15, 2006, at San Diego, CA. She survives of the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, Tony and Joyce Vietti of Pittsburg, KS, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pam and George Kolath of Pittsburg, KS, his father-in-law, Tom Kirkland of Weir, KS, his extended family, Amber and Sean Pistole of Olathe, KS, Caitlin and Dave Power of New York City, NY, Simon and Tebra Kolath of Dallas, TX, Reverend Alex and Priya Kolath of Baltimore, MD, Cara Burnidge of Waterloo, IA, his five beloved nieces, Elyse, Charley Grace and Lilly Pistole, Sofia and Torah Kolath, maternal grandmother, Louise Haynes Beecham of Cherokee, KS, aunts and uncles, Sharon and George Brenner of Pittsburg, KS, Debbie and David Smith of Cherokee, KS, and Rodney and Valinda Haynes of Joplin, MO, Ray and Jackie Vietti of Eldorado, KS, Tom Kazmierski of Joplin, MO, and a special cousin Steve and Pam Vietti of Jacksonville, FL. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ralph Haynes, paternal grandparents, Mike Vietti and Minnie Vietti Kazmierski, uncle, Mike Vietti Jr. and nephew, Elijah Kolath.

 A service for Johnny will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the First Christian Church, Pittsburg, with Reverend Will Matthews and Reverend Alex Kolath officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the First Christian Church. Friends may call at the Brenner Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to the Johnny Wade Vietti Scholarship Fund at Pittsburg State University. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
