Travis H. Terry, age 85 of Joplin, went to meet his Savior on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Freeman Hospital.
Travis was born April 21, 1929 to the late Lewis Terry and Myrtle Tremble Terry in Oakland, Arkansas. Travis was a Minister of the Gospel for 38 years. During those times he also worked as a bus driver for Webb City R-7 School District. After his first retirement, he went back to work for Economic Security Head Start as a coordinator, retiring at age 80. He was a member of Duenweg Assembly of God.
Travis is survived by the love of his life, Charlotte Steele whom he married on February 29, 1948 in Pontiac, Missouri.
Additional survivors include four sons, Darrell Terry and wife, Janey of Webb City, Byron Terry and wife Jill, Keivan Terry and wife Gail, both of Jacksonville, Florida, Greg Terry and wife Julie of Springfield, MO; two daughters, Gayla Beaver and husband Tony of Colorado Springs, CO. and Greta Hembree and husband Robert of Joplin; 14 grandchildren, Kendall, Randy, Kristi, Rhonda, Marti, Eric, Cole, Tiffany, Emily, Eian, Isaac, Eli, Preston and Brady; 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; many extended family and friends that will miss Travis.
Travis is preceded in death by his six brothers as well as his parents.
Services for Travis are planned for Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Duenweg Assembly of God Church with a visitation to follow. Graveside services will be held the following day at Price Place Cemetery near Gainesville, Missouri at 1:00 PM.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
