Robert Wardle

Robert H. Wardle, 87, Carthage, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin. Robert Harry Wardle was born April 7, 1927 in Carthage, the son of the late Harry P. Wardle and Emma Yarcho Wardle. He attended Carthage Public Schools and would have been a 1945 graduate of Carthage High School had WWII not intervened. He married Wilma Jean Pickle on June 6, 1951 in Noel, MO; she preceded him in death on February 12, 2003. Robert co-owned and operated the Ever-Seal Gasket & Stamping Co. in Kansas City, KS till his retirement in 1984. He was a WWII, U.S. Army veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church, Carthage.

Survivors include three sons; Mark (Joani) Wardle, Olathe, KS, Mike (Kathy) Wardle, Grain Valley, MO and Mitch (Kelly) Wardle, Willow Springs, MO; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a close friend, Jo Thompson, Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 – 11:00 AM, Friday Dec.5, 2014, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Rev. John Davidson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage, MO. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Knell Mortuary, Inc., 308 W. Chestnut, Carthage, MO 64836.
