Helen Cates

Helen H. Cates, 94, Neosho, died Dec. 28, 2014 at Medicalodge in Neosho.

 Helen was born Aug. 24, 1920 in Marshfield, Oregon and moved to the area in 1956 from California. She had worked at True Value for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Diamond Methodist Church. 

Helen married Armel V. L. Cates on August 23, 1941 at Vancouver, Washington and he preceded her in death in September, 2004. She is survived by three children, Armel Cates and wife, Corine of Oregon; Kathy Berry and husband, Carl of Neosho and Cecelia Magoffin of Butler, MO.; four grandchildren, Sharon Cates, Patrick Cates, John Magoffin and Heather Magoffin; five great grandchildren and a brother, Ray Wood of Oregon. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by siblings.
