Frances R. Radtke, age 93, of Joplin, Mo., went to be with The Lord at 11:10 a.m. on Friday December 12, 2014, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.
Frances was born on March 6, 1921 in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of the late Frank and Alma (Huddleston) Bruggemeyer. She married Bob Radtke on November 10, 1946, in Fairfield, Iowa. After moving to Joplin they owned and operated the Dairy Cream on Rangeline Road and later the Broadway Drive-In. Frances later worked for the Area Agency on Aging. She volunteered with Oak Hill & Freeman Auxiliary, American Legion Post 13, and Joplin Association for the Blind for many years. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Radtke in January of 2007; and her two daughters, Deanna Rae Whitehead in 2001 and Deborah Roberta Lee in 2007. She is survived by five grandchildren, Michelle Whitehead & Diana Rose, Joplin; Terry Lee, Alicia Rooks, and Todd Lee, all of Riverton, Ks; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Dr. Phillip McClendon will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Terry Lee, Todd Lee, Cloise Lee, Curtis Rose, Nathaniel Rose, and Michelle Whitehead. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
