Joplin, Mo. Rex C. Jaggars, age 79, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Freeman Hospital West following a sudden illness. Rex was born October 6, 1935 in Joplin and was a lifetime Joplin resident. Rex was employed with the Joplin Globe for 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Intl. Typographical Union, and served his country in the Mo. National Guard. He was also a member of the Joplin Lodge 335 A.F.& A.M.
Rex married Frances Cassidy July 1, 1957 in Miami, Ok. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2012. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Price and husband Gary, Quapaw, Ok., one son, Michael Jaggars and wife Patty, Joplin, one brother, Charles Jaggars, Orrick, Mo., five grandchildren; Michael, Zachary, Timothy, Matthew, and Garrett, and two great grandchildren; Kalib, and Jaxson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie (Wilson) Jaggars, and a sister, Leota Kinslow.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Randy L. Wilson, officiating. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
