Vera Maxine Williams, 82, Neosho, died at the family home in Neosho on December 13, 2014.
Vera was born April 23, 1932 in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of William M. and Virgie (Kennison) Purvis and was a resident of Neosho. She was a wife and mother and prior to retiring, she had worked at various businesses, including, Family Dollar, co-owner of Baxter Bowl, rental property manager, product promotions at Wal-Mart and as a home health care aide for Oxford Hospice. She enjoyed gardening, raising plants, cats and dogs.
She married John Williams on October 14, 1972 and he survives. She is also survived by five children, Elizabeth Adams and husband, Michael of Topeka, KS; Kathryn J. Wymer and husband, Gayle of Haslet, TX; James F. Craig and wife, Patricia of Goodman; Robert L. Craig of Neosho and Timothy A. Hendon of Neosho; one brother, Herbert A. Gailey and wife, Virna; twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many cousins, nieces, nephew, other relatives and a host of lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by a son, Carl Herbert Hendon and brothers, Earl and Leland Purvis.
