Gerald D. Carl, age 74, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his home following a sudden illness. Gerald was born July 17, 1940 in Miller, Mo. and had lived in Joplin most of his life. Gerald served as Manager for the Joplin office of McPherson Pest Control, retiring in 1986. Gerald was a Southern Baptist. He enjoyed Mountain Man Reenactments, motorcycles, guns, knives, antiques and his family. He was a kind and generous man, and loved by all.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina Carl, Joplin, and Gina Carl, Cushing, OK, two brothers, Robert Carl, Monett, MO, and Steve Carl and wife Donna, Mt. Vernon, MO, six grandchildren; Cody, Bennet, Gareth, Callum, Sevrin, and Ailan, and one great granddaughter, Zoey.
Gerald’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
