Ancel Watson Geurin, 92, formerly of Carthage passed away Friday December 26, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Aurora, MO.
Ancel was born December 23, 1922 in Smithville, Ark. He was the son of Elija W. Geurin and Maude “Smith” Geurin. Ancel served in the United States Army. He was employed for 32 years as a Aviontoncis Aircraft Technician for Trans World Airlines. Ancel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carthage. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the International Association of Machinest Union.
Ancel married LeAnna J. Hilbish on March 13, 1948 in Gravette, Arkansas, they were united in marriage for 66 years. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Larry Geurin and his wife Vicki of Dallas, Texas, one daughter Sharolyn Geurin McCauley of Excelsior Springs, MO, three sisters; Hester Helms and her husband Charles of Batesville, Ark., Fay Campbell and Jean Griffith both of Pocahontas, Ark., one sister in law, Pauletta Geurin of Fayetteville, Ark, 6 Grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Ancel was preceded in death by one son Lyle Geurin in September 2013, one brother, Ernest Geurin and two sisters, Hazel Cole and Onieda Tucker.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2013 at the Ulmer Funeral Home with visitation from 1-2 pm Tuesday prior to Services. Burial will be in Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Carthage or Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
