Donald Cornell, age 75, of Neosho, Mo., passed away on Monday December 22, 2014, at his residence.
Don was born on March 11, 1939 in Rocky Comfort, the son of Mose and Grace (Cash) Cornell. He has been a lifetime area resident. He worked for 27 years as a Manager of Product engineering for Missouri Steel Castings, he then worked 17 years at the Joplin School District as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his yard. He hosted many “porch parties” with family and friends. Don accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior on December 8, 2014.
Don married Sue Ann Stokes, December 30, 1959, in Joplin, she survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Robin and husband John Mitchell, a daughter Rachelle and husband John Bramlett, both of Neosho, one son, Randy Cornell of Webb City. Eight grandchildren, Ben and wife Lorelei, Annie and husband Robbie, Laban, Logan, Raegan, Jadie Carson, Garrett, four great grandchildren, David, Sophia, Elena and Levi. Don was proceeded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday December 26, 2014 at Union Cemetery, Powell, Mo. John Mitchell will officiate. Contributions may be made to the Fairview Baptist of Joplin, Spring City Baptist or Christ Church of Oronogo in care of the mortuary.
