Sadie Dean Johnston, age 82, of Lamar, MO passed Sunday, December 29, 2014 at Medicalodge Frontenac, KS.
Sadie was born August 29, 1932 at Lamar, MO to Clarence Wales Dermott and Ethel Jewell (Washburn) Dermott. She graduated Lamar High School 1950 and married Douglas Allen Johnston on October 29, 1950. Sadie was a homemaker and farm wife, where she garden and made sure all four of their daughters were out early working in the garden. She was a member of Lamar United Methodist Church, the Half Century Club, Fairview Sunshine Club, and was a 4H Leader and enjoyed playing cards in a Bridge Club.
Sadie is survived by four daughters, Susan (John) Kelsey, Martha (Kent) Gardner, Sara (Randy) Morey, and Nancy Robertson, all of Lamar; ten grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Beckie (Nathan) Maberry, Tessy (Donny) Beck, Tisha (Willie) Anderson, Amy Gardner, Mark (Chelle) Gardner, Beth (David) Guinn, Jerod (Elisha) Morey, Zachary (Heather) Morey and Melanie (Kent) Patrick; great-grandchildren, Addison, Dylan, and Grace Maberry, Chayton and Jake Beck, Lukas and Shelby Anderson, Jillian and Brody Gardner, Taylor, Mason, and Morgan Guinn, Elliston and Jagger Morey, and Keller Patrick.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Douglas, in 2001; two brothers, Calvin Dermott and Loren Dermott and, and a son-in-law Stanley Robertson.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Lamar United Methodist Church. With burial to follow at Lake Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 10:00 am until service time Wednesday at the church.
