Patty Ann Hindman, age 88, of Joplin, passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Saturday November 29, 2014, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.
Patty was born on September 18, 1926 in Picher, OK, the daughter of the late Richard Lee and Jeanette Wrightsell Christman. She has been a lifetime area resident. She married Floyd Hindman on November 2, 1947 in Joplin. Together they raised three children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a charter member of Central Assembly and Community Chapel Church. As a member of Community Chapel Church she enjoyed being a part of the ladies group and was an active supporter of the missions program. Hobbies she enjoyed were cake decorating and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Hindman on December 27, 2007; two sisters, Maxine Hoskins and Rosemary McFann; and a soninlaw, Randie Tingle. Patty is survived by one son, Tom Hindman and wife Laura of Olathe, KS; two daughters, Linda Tingle of Joplin, MO and Michele Holliday and husband Don of Carthage, MO; ten grandchildren, Brandon, Blake, Thomas, Nathan, Crystal, Austin, Keith, Andrew, Kevin, and Krystal; and seven great-grandchildren, Brendyn, Ava, Hailey, Cail, Cooper, Bella, and Israel.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 4th at Community Chapel Church located at 2740 East 26th in Joplin. Pastor Jeff Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family suggests memorial contributions may be given to Community Chapel Church in care of the mortuary. The family will receive friends from 57 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
