James (Jim) L. Skaggs, 83, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at 12:30 PM, Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his residence after an illness.
James Lee Skaggs was born September 26, 1931 in Seneca, MO the son of Lester E. and Marie (Strickland) Skaggs. Jim formerly worked for Rocketdyne, Teledyne, Premier Turbine in Neosho, MO as a machine operator retiring in March of 1997. He also owned and operated Leon's Drive in Wyandotte 20 plus years retiring in 2004. Jim was a 32nd Degree Mason for the Anderson Lodge # 621 and he formerly attended the Seneca Full Gospel Church.
James Lee Skaggs married Cynthia (Shirley) Cohen May 24, 1952 in Arkansas and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Kenneth W. Skaggs and wife Martha, Salina, OK; one daughter, Bonnie Jean Hardin and husband Dennis, Joplin, MO; two grandchildren; Jim Best and Michael Graham; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Skaggs and wife Helen, Seneca, Bill Skaggs and wife Janey, Joplin and John Skaggs and wife Rhonda, Neosho; two sisters, Lois Greenwood, Goodman, MO and Linda Sprenkle and husband Paul Goodman; one sister-in-law Sally Skaggs, Seneca, MO; and a host of extended family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Marie Skaggs; two brothers, Clifford Skaggs and Bobby Skaggs and one sister, Donna Skaggs.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca with Pastor P.J. Hutchinson officiating. Following the funeral services the family will receive friends.
