Rutha Williams

Rutha Bella (Horton) Williams, 62 years of age, departed this life on Friday, June 3, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Rutha entered this life on May 29, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of the late Robert L. Horton and Sarah E. (Brannon) Horton. For several years she resided in Sacramento, California and Houston, Texas. She later returned to Avilla, Missouri and faithfully took care of her mother, Sarah for sixteen years. She enjoyed crafts, garage sales & karaoke. She was very involved with her grandchildren and loved spending time with family and friends.

Rutha is preceded in death by two brothers, William Arthur Monroe Horton and Thomas Lloyd Horton; one grandson, Bradley Parke Fowler; and her niece, Salina Ramos.

Rutha is survived by her son, Joseph Fowler, IV. and wife Tammi, of Roscoe, Illinois; four grandchildren, Paige Sands, Victoria Sands, Joseph (Ben) Fowler,V. and Blake Fowler; one brother, Robert Horton and wife Alice of Neosho, Missouri; three sisters, Evelyn Bragg and husband Roy of Granby, Missouri, Kathrine Baxley and husband Frank of Greenfield, Missouri and Ella Deonier of Lockwood, Missouri ; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, Missouri with Pastor Rocky Tash officiating. Burial will follow in the Avilla Cemetery, Avilla, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Chastain, II., Jeramie Chastain, Robert Horton, Jr., Frank Wisebach, Trenton Horton and Joseph Fowler, IV.
