Vera Scribner

Vera L. Scribner, 78, Diamond, died June 22, 2016 at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, following an illness. Vera was born Sept. 11, 1937 in Carthage, Missouri and was a lifelong area resident. She worked at the Diamond Schools as a cook for many years and had also worked at Camp Cyokamo at Alba and Girl Scout Camp. Vera enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and supporting her grandchildren in their activities. She was an avid supporter of Diamond and was good to everyone.

Vera and Delmer Scribner were married on Dec. 3, 1964 in Joplin and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2007. She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Walstead of Joplin; four grandchildren, Cameron Scribner, Chelsea Burleson and husband, Brent, Corey Walstead and Colton Walstead; nine great grandchildren and a very special friend, Carol Scribner of Joplin. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Edward Scribner; her parents, Alvin and Clara Sapp; four brothers, Ed, Bud, Earl and Jack Sapp and three sisters, Lorraine Scott, Emma Carroll and Laura Bell Sapp. 
 
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
