James Joseph “Jim” Golubski, 75, of Monett, MO, passed suddenly from this life to his eternal home on Tuesday evening, June 14, 2016 at his residence.
Jim was born on October 13, 1940 in Kansas City, KS, son of the late Edward and Rose (Ceselski) Golubski. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City with the class of 1958. Following his school years, Jim served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1974, he opened his own barber shop, Hair Master, in Kansas City. In 1978, Jim moved to Monett and continued that business until this day. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and as an avid hunter and fisherman, Jim was a member of the Monett Sportsmen League.
On June 3, 1961 in Kansas City, Jim married Sherry Ann Austin. She preceded him in death. On October 17, 1997 in Eureka Springs, AR, Jim married Vickie (Robbins) Pryor.
Jim is survived by Vickie Golubski, of the home; one son, Mark Golubski (Susan), of Walnut Grove, MO; two daughters, Jamie Matejcek (Edward), of Hollister and Jade (Pryor) Schumann (James), of Joplin, MO; six grandchildren, Tyler Schumann, of Joplin, and Edward Tunnell, Gus, Ava, Amber and Enrico Matejcek, all of Hollister; one brother-in-law, Larry Zukel, of Prairie Village, KS; one sister-in-law, Billie Golubski, of Shawnee Mission, KS; a host of extended family and friends; and last but not least, his hunting dog, Honey Sue.
Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Golubski; and one sister, Margaret Zukel.
Following Jim’s wishes to be cremated, a memorial funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Father Henry Grodecki will be officiating. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. At a later date, a committal service with military honors will be held at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Missouri Dept. of Conservation in care of the funeral home.
